DIASPORA CIRCLE RULES

Effective date: 30/01/2026

These rules exist to protect the privacy, safety, and quality of the Diaspora Circle community. By applying, joining our WhatsApp groups, or attending any Diaspora Circle event, you agree to follow the Code of Conduct, Community Rules & Safety Policy, and Terms of Membership.

1) Quick Rules

  • Private community: no screenshots, forwarding, or reposting outside the group without permission.

  • Respect + consent: no harassment, bullying, discrimination, threats, unwanted advances, or pressuring anyone. If someone says no, that is final.

  • Keep it calm: no public arguments in the chat. Raise issues privately with the host team.

  • No spam: networking is welcome; mass promos, schemes, or unsolicited DMs are not.

  • Events safety: look out for each other. If something feels off, tell the host team immediately. Predatory behavior leads to removal.

2) Code of Conduct

Diaspora Circle is built on trust. This Code of Conduct sets the behaviour standard for all members across WhatsApp, online spaces, and in-person events.

  1. Respect and dignity: treat every member with respect. Handle disagreements calmly and privately.

  2. Consent and boundaries: consent is non-negotiable. Unwanted advances, repeated messaging after disinterest, or pressuring anyone into anything is not allowed.

  3. Privacy and discretion: do not share screenshots, recordings, private details, or personal stories outside the community without permission.

  4. Safety-first behaviour: do not create unsafe situations. Predatory behaviour is immediate removal and may be escalated to venues/authorities.

  5. Responsible community conduct: no clout-chasing, gossip farming, or bringing outside conflict into the community.

  6. Events and venues: follow venue rules and local laws. Respect staff and security. Follow host team instructions for safety.

  7. Business and networking integrity: no scams, misleading offers, or pressure selling. Disclose if you benefit financially from recommendations. No pyramid schemes.

  8. Chat etiquette: no spam, no aggressive voice notes, no excessive negativity. Be mindful of tone and volume.

  9. Reporting and cooperation: cooperate with host team investigations. No retaliation against anyone who raises a concern.

  10. Consequences: breaches can lead to warnings, suspension, or removal. Serious breaches may lead to immediate removal without refund.

Member acknowledgement: By joining and participating in Diaspora Circle, you agree to follow this Code of Conduct and all Community Rules and Safety Policies.

3) Community Rules and Safety Policy

This policy explains how Diaspora Circle is run and how safety is maintained. It includes enforcement processes and rules that protect members and the community.

3.1 Purpose

Diaspora Circle is a private, vetted community created for safe social connection, networking, curated events, and shared opportunities across the diaspora. Safety, respect, and discretion are non-negotiable.

3.2 Definitions

Host Team means Jae Radio and any appointed admins/moderators. Harassment includes repeated unwanted contact, intimidation, bullying, sexual harassment, or threats. Doxxing includes sharing or threatening to share personal information such as a home address, phone number, workplace, private images, immigration status, or other identifying details. Predatory behavior includes targeting or isolating intoxicated or vulnerable people, pressuring for sex or companionship, ignoring consent, or exploiting power dynamics. Spam includes mass promotions, repeated unsolicited posts, mass direct messages, schemes, or posting that disrupts the community.

3.3 Eligibility and membership

Membership is 18+ only. Membership is subject to screening and approval. Members must apply using their real identity. False information or impersonation may result in rejection or removal.

3.4 Screening and verification

We may request identity verification and supporting details to protect safety and prevent fraud. Refusal to complete reasonable verification steps may result in rejection or suspension.

3.5 Privacy and confidentiality

Diaspora Circle is private. Do not screenshot, forward, repost, or publish community content outside the community without permission. Do not record calls or events without consent. The Host Team may keep internal records of incidents for safety management and enforcement, treated confidentially.

3.6 Respect and conduct standards

Zero tolerance for harassment, threats, hate speech, discrimination, sexual misconduct, stalking, coercion, doxxing, blackmail, intimidation, fraud, scams, or exploitation.

3.7 Events safety standards

Members attend events at their own risk and remain responsible for personal choices and belongings. The buddy system is encouraged. Report safety concerns to the Host Team immediately. Predatory behavior may result in immediate removal and escalation.

3.8 Alcohol and substances

If someone is intoxicated or unable to consent, they must not be encouraged into risky situations. Predatory conduct related to intoxication is immediate removal.

3.9 Relationships and boundaries

Dating is not prohibited, but consent, discretion, and respect are mandatory. Do not hunt members or create patterns of uncomfortable attention. Relationship conflicts must not disrupt the community.

3.10 Business, vendors, and promotions

3.13 Fees and refunds

Unless stated otherwise, membership fees and event deposits may be non-refundable. Refunds may be refused where removal is due to misconduct or rule violations.

3.14 Final note
